The second round of U15 Carpathian Junior Hockey League, red group, was played during the weekend in Krynica-Zdrój. We saw 21 great games. But one of them was really special!
As we informed you earlier, Carpathian Junior Hockey League in cooperation with KTH Krynica-Zdrój prepared special event. The point was, to try set new spectators record of CJHL. Home team players had to address as much people as they can and invite them for a game against Kárpáti Farkasok, Hungary. And they did very well! Game, of two best teams of "red" group watched 350 spectators!
"Yes, they did it! KTH set new spectators record of Carpathian Junior Hockey League! The old one was already quite "bearded". I am very glad that it worked out. And I really appreciate, that it wansn´t only work of club management, but that this result was achieved thanks to entire team," said Peter Kločanka, CJHL director and continued, "I hope we will be able to organize such an event also in next rounds of CJHL and we will set new and new records. But it will be really great, if some of those people will find out, that youth hockey is also very interesting and will come back to watch also regular league games of their team."
Just as a reminder, the original record was from the 2019/2020 season (Novoyavorivsk, Ukraine). The match between the home team Halycke Levy and the Lithuanian "Baltu ainiai" Kaunas was watched by 275 spectators. The home team enjoyed a 5:4 victory.
As mentioned before, players were motivated by Carpathian Junior Hockey League to invite as much fans as they can. Wiktor Kruczek did the best. He brought to the game 39 spectators. The second place belongs to Oliwier Hurej (30), the third to Łukasz Ferek (27). As a reward, they received a hockey stick, drill sticks and a CJHL hoodie.
Management of KTH Krynica-Zdrój was also satisfied with achieved result. "We are incredibly proud to have been part of this historic moment for the Carpathian Junior Hockey League. Setting a new spectators record with 350 fans is a testament to the passion for hockey in Krynica-Zdrój. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work of our players, who took on the challenge of inviting supporters, as well as the dedication of our coaching staff, club management, and, of course, our amazing fans," said with pleasure Tomasz Ferek, KTH president and added, "It was inspiring to see so many people in the stands, cheering for youth hockey and creating such an electric atmosphere. Events like this show the true potential of youth sports to bring communities together. I hope this is just the beginning of a new wave of interest in our young athletes and that we’ll see even more fans at future games. On behalf of KTH Krynica-Zdrój, I want to thank everyone who joined us for this special event and helped make it such a success. Let’s continue to show our love for hockey and support our teams!"
After the match, there was also lotery and goal shooting contest. All winners got nice prices from KTH and CJHL. In shooting competition it was CJHL puck, t-shirt and backpack. KTH delighted its fans with a club flag, sunglasses and a winterscarf. Three lucky winners in a raffle took home tickets to the Polish ice hockey Cup Final, a 50 PLN vouchers donated by "Restauracja Karczma nad Kryniczanką" and new CJHL hoodies.
