About League

The international ice-hockey competition CARPATHIAN JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE (CJHL) was established in 2016. The CJHL complement the regular league schedule of its members by international confrontation. The League is played by tournament system. During the season, the teams will meet on four 3-days events. In the 2018/2019 season, 17 teams form 7 European countries will compete in two divisions: BEARS (category U19) and EAGLES (U15).

From the history of the Carpathian Junior Hockey League ...

On March 22, 2016, the first official meeting of club representatives from Michalovce, Trebišov, Sanok, Debrecen, Miskolc and Novojavorivsk took place in Michalovce. At this meeting were defined the basic principles of the competition. Shortly after that, the Romanian club Dunarea Galati was interested in entering the competition.

After this appointment, on which all participants presented their ideas, things got fast development. Registration of a civic association, creation of League Rules and regulations and its subsequent approval by clubs, preparation of a website and many other steps necessary to implement the project of Carpathian Junior Hockey League. The historicaly first round of the League took place in Trebišov (Slovakia) on August 2016, 26. - 28.

Six teams from 5 countries participated in the first season of CJHL (2016/2017): HK Mládež Michalovce, MŠKM TREBIŠOV (Slovakia), DebMis Select (Hungary), HK Halycké Levy Novojavorivsk (Ukraine), STS UKS Niedzwiadki MOSiR Sanok (Poland) and Gladiators Dunarea Galati (Romania). Historically the first winner of the Carpathian Junior Hockey League became HK Halycké Levy Novjavorivsk from Ukraine.

First expansion of the League became before its second season. In the 2017/2018, a total of 14 teams were presented in two age categories.

HK Mládež Michalovce, MŠKM TREBIŠOV (Slovakia), HK Halycké Levy Novojavorivsk, SDYUSSHOR Kharkov (Ukraine), STS UKS Niedzwiadki MOSiR Sanok (Poland), Gladiators Dunarea Galati (Romania) and HA Brumov-Bylnice (Czech Republic), in the U18 category (born 2000/2001).

In the U16 category (players born in 2002/2003) played 7 teams as well: SDYUSSHOR-2002 Kharkov, Kryzhynka Kyiv (Ukraine), Debreceni Hoki Club (Hungary), HK Mládež Michalovce (Slovakia), STS UKS Niedzwiadki MOSiR Sanok (Poland), Gladiators Dunarea Galati (Romania) and HA Brumov-Bylnice (Czech Republic).

CARPATHIAN JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE, c.a.

The Civic Association "CARPATHIAN JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE, c.a." was founded in 2016 to create conditions for the development of ice hockey in the Carpathian Euroregion. It focus its activities especially on youth and junior hockey support. The association wants to be helpful in deepening the cooperation among the hockey clubs in this region.

On October, 18., 2017 Executive committee of Slovak Ice Hockey Federation accepted Carpathion Junior Hockey League, c.a. as a registered member of Slovak Ice Hockey Federation.
