Carpathian Junior Hockey League will start its sixth season in six days!

Paradoxically, it will not start with the first round of the new season, but the with last round of the previous one. In the Polish cities of Jastrzebie-Zdrój and Nowy Targ, the title of Champions of the Carpathian Junior Hockey League for the 2020/2021 season will be fought.

"The season was marked by coronavirus. Of course, restrictions also affected our league. In several countries, youth hockey was not played almost at all, somewhere it was not even possible to train. Nevertheless, we managed to play more than 240 matches during the season," said Peter Kločanka, CJHL director .

The mentioned matches took place within the Polish and Ukrainian qualifications. Qualifying tournaments were played in categories U12, U14 and U16. At the end of the season, the final tournament was played only in the youngest category. The final rounds of the remaining two categories have been canceled due to stricter anti-pandemic restrictions.

"We were sorry, that it was not possible to played them in March / April. That's why we decided to play both Finale tournaments now, at the beginning of the new season. Especially because of the players, who worked hard to get into the Finale. Also because of the clubs that made a lot of effort, to played the qualifying tournaments," added Peter Kločanka.

As we have already mentioned, both final tournaments will take place in Poland. The finalists of the U16 category will be welcomed by the spa town of Jastrzebie-Zdrój. From 25th to 27th August, 6 teams will measure their strength here. The U14 category will meet its winner in Nowy Targ (August 29-31). We will bring more information soon.
